Checking email settings on iPhone

  • First, open the Settings app on your iPhone

  • Now open the Mail, Contacts and Calendars section

  • Choose the account you wish to edit

  • Then click the account to edit it

  • Check that the Host Name, Username and Password are correct. If you don't know what these details are, ask us!
  • Then click the Advanced button at the bottom

  • Now check that Use SSL is On (green icon), the Authentication is set to Password, and you have the right Server Port. If you're using IMAP it should be 993, if you're using POP3 it should be 995. If you're not sure which you're using, ask us!
  • When you've done this, go back to the previous page

  • Now click the SMTP options

  • The email account should only have one server active, so the top item in the list should say On next to it, and the others should say Off.
  • Click the item at the top of the list to check its settings.

  • Finally, check that the Host Name, Username and Password are all correct here.
  • Check that Use SSL is On (green icon), the authentication is set to Password, and the Server Port is 465
  • Click Done to save all your changes and everything should be working. Send a test message to make sure you can send and receive email, and please get in touch if you're having problems.
