Google want you to use HTTPS

Google are soon going to start penalising sites that don't run over a secure connection, HTTPS. If your site doesn't use this technology, you may well see your site creep down search results, below sites that do.
Google have been encouraging websites to use HTTPS for a couple of years, but this marks a change in their approach from carrot to stick. For an in-depth look at why they're doing this, have a look at this YouTube clip.
But now that Google's policy has changed, we'd really recommend moving to HTTPS. We can offer this as an addition to our standard hosting package.
Of course you don't have to do this, but if you don't do anything then Google are likely to show your competitors' websites above yours.
